Intelbras ONT Router (2023)

Here’s a project I developed at Intelbras: the ONT WiFiber 1200R, an entry-level optical network terminal (ONT) router designed for fiber-optic connections. With minimal, elegant and discreet design, it fits perfectly into small homes, delivering high-performance WiFi AC and gigabit Ethernet in a compact and understated form.

At Intelbras, I worked on designing the ONT WiFiber 1200R, a fiber-optic ONT router aimed at small residential users. The idea was to combine functionality with simplicity: it supports a PON fiber input, WiFi AC, and gigabit LAN ports, giving users modern connectivity without overwhelming complexity.

From a design standpoint, I focused on a minimal, elegant aesthetic. The casing has clean lines and soft edges, and the visual elements are subtle — no unnecessary ornamentation. It’s meant to stay in the background, blending into a home environment rather than drawing attention. The materials and finishes are chosen to feel premium but unassuming.

Being an entry-level device, cost and usability were key. So I ensured it's compact, intuitive, and easy to install: few visible ports, simple indicator LEDs, and a layout that allows easy access without compromising on look. Overall, it’s a product that balances modern technical requirements with a design that respects the living space of users.
